Colchester 1-1 Crawley

Weston Homes Community Stadium

Colchester are still searching for their first league one win of the season but a late leveller ensured they at least shared the points at home against Crawley on Tuesday night.

Probably somewhat fortunately so the sides went in level nil-nil at the break, with the visitors having the better of the chances.

As time ticked away Kyle McFadzean (71) finally broke the deadlock for the visitors, with that goal looking like it would give Crawley the win but with just three-minutes on the clock Colchester were awarded a penalty, which Anthony Wordsworth (87) duly converted.

Crawley twice hit the post, with Mark Cousins saving another effort onto the bar, so a 1-1 draw was slightly fortunate but The U’s would happily take this!
