Only a second win in 10 league 1 games, which was very much needed, helped to revive Colchester’s battle to avoid relegation with the two-nil win at London Road putting more pressure on Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson who has seen his side slip into ‘freefall’ of late….

Peterborough might have been the dominant force for much of the first half, and indeed the game, but if you’re not able to find the net you’ll not win too many games!

After a goalless first half Freddie Sears (54) bagged his 14th goal on the season to give us the lead shortly after the break with the three-points wrapped up by Ipswich loanee Elliott Hewitt’s (84) first goal for us, and of his career, when he fired home from 20-yards late on.

Going into this game a defeat, was the expected outcome with 42% thinking the home side would win with these the pre-match polls findings:-

Peterborough v Colchester

Peterborough win 42%
Colchester win 30%
Draw 28%
