Rob Lee is a name most will know from his Newcastle days. His son, Olly Lee, previously with West Ham and Barnet has been training with us following his release by Birmingham this summer.

Olly is also the old brother of another former player of us, who we had on loan previously, Elliott a striker who also came in from West Ham.

His, I’d suppose you’ll call it ‘trial period’ has taken place since pre-season training resumed with the Gazette reporting the midfielder will be given a chance to earn himself a contract at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

The 24-year-old does have previous at this level, and given Birmingham took him to Championship level previously, a step up is possible but its down to Lee to earn himself a deal with him featuring in our eight-nil win over Heybridge Swift on Saturday.

Another good addition, if we make this signing, but it comes down to him being ‘better than what we have’ and that’s something he’s got to prove to Tony Humes.
