Colchester traveled north to Elland Road today for what was their first ever game against Leeds in the League. A trip that ended in a 3-0 defeat for Colchester thanks to a goal by Richard Cresswell and a brace by Robbie Blake.

Greg Halford was forced out of the side that beat the League leaders Cardiff City 7 days earlier after a reoccurrence of an injury to his toe.

Chris Barker returned to replace George Ellokobi who had deputized for him in the match against Barkers employers.

In a game that was as bright as the weather both teams were making little headway until Blake burst through the Colchester Midfield to slot home past Davison into the far corner.

Leeds further extended their lead after the interval with two quick fire goals, firstly Izzet lost possession of the ball to Lewis who crossed for Cresswell to head home and the referee handed the home side a penalty after Douglas and John White went for the same Ball, a harsh decision, however Blake made no mistake from the spot.

The home side then started to cruse as Colchester came back into the game somewhat late on, indeed they had the ball in the back of the net through Jamie Cureton, only for the referee to bizarrely call back the play for a Colchester Free Kick disallowing the goal.

With a few long range efforts and a shot that crashed off the post from Jackson the Never give up attitude of Colchester was all too apparent, however by that time they were soundly beaten for the first time this season.
