Legend Sheringham Set To Retire

Colchester`s Teddy Sheringham, formally of Man United & Spurs, will announce he will retire from professional football at the end of the season tomorrow.

The 41-year-old will tell Sky Sports of his decision before playing out the final months of his contract with Colchester, although the once England legend is sure to receive many plaudits.

Sheringham has had an up and down season in Essex, but has scored three goals and will play his last game for the club in May.
He has scored 349 career goals and helped Manchester United to a unique treble triumph in 1999, and will be remembered for his role in an England shirt with Alan Shearer at Euro `96.

He also played a pivotal role in the England game against Greece when England won their group as he scored the first goal in that 2-2 draw.
