Kevin Lisbie has revealed that Colchester United were the only League One club he was prepared to play for.
The 30-year-old inked a season-long loan deal in North Essex, click here, on Monday. Lisbie makes the short trip back down the A12 from close rivals Ipswich Town after a disappointing 12 months.
And Lisbie told The Daily Gazette: ‘Playing in League One was something I had to think about.
‘I wouldn`t have done it if it hadn`t been Colchester.’
Lisbie, who netted an impressive 17 goals for the U’s, two season ago, while still at Layer Road, is shocked at how much has changed.
‘I can`t believe it – it`s a bit different to Layer Road!’ he added:
‘It feels like a different club and the facilities are amazing.’
