Former Charlton striker Kevin Lisbie joins the club for the friendly with Heybridge Swifts on Saturday.

Lisbie is looking for a new club after he ended his 11 years at Charlton being released this summer.

Lisbie born in Hackney and capped by Jamaica scored 19 goals in 176 games for the Addicks and he is now 28.

Lisbie is the second trialist who will feature in this game.

He is a striker who has played prem football all his career so he could be just the ticket, not the best scoring record though.

  • Deeno says:

Do not know much about the guy, do you think he would have been released had Charlton stayed in the Prem?

  • StevieG Col U says:

He probaly still would have been released, because he never did that well last season. Dropping down a league could help revive his career, it worked for Michael Chopra.

  • StevieG Col U says:

I’ve heard a rumour about Malcolm Christie coming on a free transfer, but Stoke are after him and they said his wages are too high and they are a bigger club then us.

  • Deeno says:

Why does everyone rate Chopra? Personaly I thought he was Poor at LR last year, if he is worth 5 Mil what would Curo have been worth if he had of been 24 lats year?

  • StevieG Col U says:

I agree he ain’t worth 5million, don’t think he will do that well at Sunderland, but at the end of the he scored over 20 goals last season, so he must be doing something right!

Good debate here. I don’t like MC. As for Lisbie, apparantly lo9oked good with Patt, a pacy guy. Only got something like 19 goals with Charlton though in a decade or so. It was time for him to move on

  • StevieG Col U says:

Yeah his goal scoring record is very poor, a move could make the difference though.
