Ex-Colchester United striker Kevin Lisbie believes he is now with a ‘better team’ following his move to Ipswich Town.

Lisbie recently completed an undisclosed transfer up the A12 to Portman Road, to link up with Town. Lisbie scored 17 goals last season, despite the U’s relegation to League One, following a free transfer move from Charlton Athletic.

The Jamaican’s impressive goal scoring form, while with the U’s, lead to a number of Championship clubs making enquiries but Town it was who won the race. The pacy front-man has already notched two goals in as many games for his new employers.

Speaking to the EADT, Lisbie said: ‘I do expect to get more goals this season because I’m with a better team

‘If you look at my ratio at Colchester I didn’t get that many chances but those I did I put away.

‘With Ipswich I feel I will get more chances and it is up to me to put them away.

‘In the two games I played, especially at Brighton, I felt I had a lot of chances.’

Compared to what we had last year I think he is right to be honest he had no service with too many long balls over the top.

We created plenty of chances for him last season, he scored a few but also missed a few. Hit the post with an open goal against Stoke or was it Ipswich?? 10 goals maximum for the new season and plenty of warming the bench especially if they sign Nugent
