Lisbie In Penalty Controversy

Colchester ace Kevin Lisbie admitted the U`s were fortunate to get a penalty in yesterday`s 3-1 derby defeat at Ipswich, despite the fact that the in-form Mark Yeates went on to miss the kick in a weak effort that was saved.

Jamaican International Lisbie went down when one-on-one with Ipswich ‘keeper Neil Alexander, who received a yellow card for the incident, before Irishman Yeates failed to convert the penalty as Town ran out clear winners.

Post-match, Lisbie told The Evening Gazette: “The goalkeeper did touch me but I don`t think it was a penalty.”

Town fans may well feel justice was done.
