Despite his sending off in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, Magnus Okuonghae has been nominated for the League One Player of the Month award for August.

The U’s began the campaign with back-to-back clean sheets, before only an unfortunate goal away to Sheffield United ended that run in the third game of the season.

Carlisle nicked a 1-1 draw at the Weston Homes with an early strike from distance and it was Leyton Orient, the division’s in-form side, who put more than one goal past the U’s last weekend.

The central defender has been ever-present for the U’s so far this season, although he will now miss out at the weekend through suspension thanks to his dismissal last night.

Nahki Wells, Romain Vincelot and Callum Wilson are also nominated, with Wells and Wilson in particular proving hot in front of goal for Bradford and Coventry, respectively.
