Colchester United manager Geraint Williams claimed his side were “cruelly robbed” of a point against Coventry yesterday after Michael Mifsud`s goal prevented them from taking any points.

“It was a hard game but that’s probably as poor as we’ve been,” conceded Williams at full-timem whose side took only three points from a possible nine over the last three matches.

Coventry grabbed their first win, and goal, inside four matches, reliving pressure on the under-fire Iian Dowie.

“Both sides were struggling to create and I thought it would be 0-0 but it didn’t turn out like that,” said his managerial counterpart Williams.

Refusing to make any criticism of his defence, he added: “I thought the back four coped well and they were all excellent. A deflection cruelly robbed us of a point but we gave the ball away in a bad area.”
