The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game against Scunthorpe United this weekend.

Colchester United travel to Scunthorpe United on Saturday January 23 for the game at Glanford Park and the match carries a 3pm kick off.

Referee: Darren Handley
Linesmen: Darren Strain and Helen Byrne
Fourth Official: James Wilson

Match Day referee Handley (Lancashire) has officiated one Colchester game this season – the three two win over Sheffield United in September. In that game he showed four yellow cards and one red card, three yellows and one red to Colchester.

He has however already taken in nineteen other matches so far in 2015-16 and in those games, across all competitions and Football divisions, he has handed out a total of 73 yellow cards and four red cards.

He was most card happy in the match between Leyton Orient and Wimbledon on November 28 with a total of six yellows being shown, plus one red. He also showed six yellows in the game between Coventry City and Southend United on August 31.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of our players edge closer to automatic bans.
