The Colchester United Supporters Association (CUSA) have teamed up with Network Colchester to provide a Matchday Travel Service for fans from outlying Villages to get to the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Speaking to the Colchester Official Website CUSA Secretary Roger Westlake said,’We have been able to put together three distinct routes and we hope that fans will really utilise this service.

‘The CUSA has underwritten the financial risk on this project, so we hope that it is a massive success and we would say at this stage that it is one we are very confident in.’

Fans will be able to pick up the buses at stops along the route, in what is expected to be an express service getting to the ground no later than an hour before kick-off.

Bookings can be made prior to kick off with Network Colchester – and this is advised to allow the company to make judgements on how many buses might be required each game – but fans can also make a late decision to hop on the bus.

‘It is still early days in terms of routing and timetables, but we are pleased with what we are able to offer,’ Glenn Jenkins of Network Colchester added.

‘We have a form on our website where we would like people to continue to add their locations so that we can remain confident that the routes are ‘best fit’ to what is required.

‘We then hope to have formal routing and timetables available next week.

‘As mentioned, it would help us immensely if people can pre-book. We want to ensure we have enough transportation to take people to the games and would rather not be running nearly empty buses if we can help it.’

Details of the service can be found at www.networkcolchester.com under the Football Mad! Section of the site.

Introductory fares for the Football Specials service are as follows:-

Adult £5

Adult and 1 child £8
