Elliott Hewitt enjoyed a successful loan with Colchester last season, technically this was split over two periods, but following his Ipswich release having previously looked like he could he’ll not be coming back.

Brought in as a right back he was also used as a right sided midfielder at times during his 24 appearances from the Championship side and as much as he impressed at the Weston Homes Community Stadium he’ll not be coming back, unless it’s as a visiting player….

Tony Humes has brought in Richard Brindley following his own loan spell and has a couple of younger options too so he’s confirmed to the Gazette that this isn’t a deal he’s looking to do.

‘We’re not considering a move for Elliott at this time.

‘Richard Brindley came in on loan for us at the end of last season and did very well. We’ve now signed him permanently and he’s committed to us for the next two years.

‘The right-back position is one we have covered, with Tosin Olufemi and Kane Vincent-Young there too.’

Hewitt was good for us but he’ll not be coming back at this point in time, maybe one day he’ll come back to the WHCS but one thing I’m certain about is the 21-year-old isn’t going to be without a club when the 2015/16 season gets underway!
