Norwich Rebuffed Over Williams

Any overtures that Colchester`s rivals Norwich have been considering for Geriant Williams over thier vacant managerial job would be seriously rebuffed, according to the press.

In today`s East Anglain Daily Times, a report quotes the club`s chief executive Marie Partner as saying: “I would hope that George would not even consider the Norwich job! He’s quite happy being the No. 1 at Colchester.”

Mrs Partner added: “It’s his own team this year. I know he was devastated with Tuesday night’s result at Ipswich (a 3-1 defeat), like we all were, but it’s his great belief that we have a lot to achieve this year.”
Williams himself joked about the application, which it rumoured he was interviewed for after Phil Parkinson on Thursday, but pointing out that he had a match commitment that day.

Williams added: “If there was any approach, I would have heard it from Robbie Cowling (chairman and owner), and I have heard nothing.
