Colchester United striker Jamie Guy is believed to be a summer transfer target for Leyton Orient boss Martin Ling.

Guy, 20, struggled for form last season as injuries restricted him to just 12 first-team appearances. The U’s youth team product is behind Kevin Lisbie, Clive Platt and Scott Vernon in the pecking order so may decide to ply his trade elsewhere.

Guy made his senior U’s debut in the 1-0 home defeat to Blackpool in 2005, later that year he had a loan with Ebbsfleet. After failing to feature regularly for the U’s first-team he was sent out on loan to Cambridge United in March 2006. In the 2006/7 season Guy scored three goals in 34 appearances for the U’s.

Meanwhile, released U’s defender Danny Granville is also thought to be a target for the O’s.

One Reply to “Orient Keen on Guy?”

  • Think he would be a decent sub in League One for the U’s, should score goals with his pace and power, but probably wants first-team football. Meanwhile, Crewe are also said to be keen! Up the U’s1
