Ost Slams Delay Of £14m Stadium

Paul Ost, frontrunner of Colchester United`s Stadium Action Group, the association behind the Essex club`s £14 million re-location to Cuckoo Farm, has called new delays with the project “an embarrassment.”

Ost, who spoke before Colchester`s Borough Council Cabinet, is quoted in tonight`s Evening Gazette to deliver a damning verdict on proceedings.

He reportedly explained that people were worried by “a lack of progress” on the 10,000-seater ground, where work was originally supposed to begin next month.

His comments, where he demanded to know: “Is the first sod really going to be cut next month? What’s the hold-up?” are high-profile and have also been back by avid U`s fan and Colchester MP Bob Russell.

Russell, quoted in the same article, said that the delays were “inexcusable”, which this website would echo, given that the project has been campaigned for over the best part of a decade and that the apparent problem is due to unsigned paperwork.

As C02, also a regular on this site, commented: “Once again the council use words like ‘imminent’ and ‘progress’ when there is no proof of either.

Months and months of more delays, wasting more and more time and money,” he added.
