It would probably be viewed as an understatement to say that Will Packwood had an ‘unlucky’ brief spell on loan with Colchester wouldn’t it?

Signed on loan recently from Birmingham City the 21-year-old endured a debut to forget for the U’s, with that game set to be the only one he plays for the club, certainly this side of Christmas as he’s returned to his parent club….

Packwood was given a debut in the thrashing by MK Dons when they literally ‘hit us for six’, being sent off 67-minutes into this but not before he had picked up a groin injury that would have kept him out of the starting XI for sometime anyway even without his suspension.

Tony Humes has told the official website that this injury is likely to keep him out for us to eight-weeks, but with his loan to expire on January 1st it was decided it was before for all for him to go back now.

He said: ‘To have the sending off and the red card was very unfortunate for Will.

‘The game at MK Dons was a tough one for everyone and Will didn’t get much help from those around him.’

Hopefully whatever happens with the American next he has a little more fortune, perhaps we’ll see him back at the WHCS when he’s fit but somehow I doubt it….
