Colchester United winger Mark Yeates is reportedly a January transfer target for the U`s Championship rivals Crystal Palace.
Yeates, who impressed against Palace in the recent 2-1 defeat, has been in fine form since joining Colchester permanently in the close season, from Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur.
The Irish wing sensation, 22, recently celebrated a call-up to the Republic of Ireland B team and impressed on his debut.
Yeates, who is the U`s leading goal scorer with seven goals to his name this season, is reportedly going to be under the attention of scouts once more when the Layer Road side take on Wolves at Molineux on Wednesday night.
Eagles boss Neil Warnock admitted in the Local Guardian “We need to get the players in as soon as possible, and I mean at the beginning of January not at the end of the month.
‘I’ve told Simon (Jordan) who I’m looking at, so he knows who I’m after.”

What do you think? Would he go? Hope he doesn’t…
He won’t no way!
How much do you think he’s worth? 2m? Palace play boring long ball football now Warnock is there, so he’d never touch the ball…
True, Stevie G! He wouldn’t go though; only to a top Champ club or Prem. Worth about £2 – £3 m!
Yeah supose. The market is expensive at the mo, so 2.5M+….
