Colchester United defender Pat Baldwin has been named in the U’s squad for tonight’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy match with Gillingham.

The U’s travel to the Priestfield Stadium, for the second time this season, having previously won 1-0 in the League Cup.

Baldwin returns to the U’s fold, hoping to make his first appearance of the season, following a long spell on the sidelines, with a shoulder injury.

U’s skipper Chris Coyne is away on international duty, with Australia, along with Medy Elito, who received a late call-up to the England U19 squad.

Matt Lockwood (tendinitis) is the U’s only injury absentee, otherwise caretaker-manager Kit Symons has a full squad for pick from.

U’s Squad: Gerken, Cousins, White, Ifil, Heath, Reid, Baldwin, Borrowdale, Yeates, D. Hammond, Izzet, Perkins, Jackson, Wordsworth, Wasiu, Platt, Vernon, Gillespie.

No doubt Symons will play another unadventurous line up with 1 up front! Not impressed with Borrowdale at all. Hopefully Baldwin will get a chance to stake a claim for a start on Saturday as he has to be better than Reid.
