West Bromwich Albion forward Kevin Philips has given his club a timely fillip by overcoming an ankle injury which could see him in contention to face Colchester United at Layer Road on Saturday.
Former England man Philips, 34, had been out of the Baggies` past two games but has now shaken the offending ankle injury and is looking to add to an impressive tally of six goals that he already has this term.
Assistant manager Mark Venus told the West Bromwich official website today: ‘Kevin is back in training. It’s his first day back with the squad so we’ll see how he goes. Hopefully, he will be okay and we’ll see how he is at the end of the week.”
