The latest Vital U`s poll suggests that the four January singings made by Colchester are “very good”, according to 64% of the vote.
The club twice smashed their previous transfer record by bringing defenders Chris Coyne and Phil Ifil from Luton and Tottenham respectively; Coyne`s disclosed fee was £350,000.
Manager Geraint Williams also splashed a further £300,000 on the captures of Dean Hammond, a promising player from Brighton, and Scott Vernon.
Vernon, 24, played on loan during United`s promotion-winning season in 2005-6, where he scored a vital goal to keep the club in contention at the campaign`s climax.
Accordingly, 17% of the vote records that fans of the club are encouraged by the transfer activity, while 18% are either not impressed or disappointed with the results of the investment.

I want a Vernon and Sheringham partnership, but it aint there?
Nor is Guy Lisbie!
Tried to amend the new poll but it didn’t work! You’ll just have to choose something else!
oh, i went for a front three, I’d prefer Yeates ( when fit ), Platt and Lisbie
Worth a go, but I think Yeates would waste chances!
