Aidy Boothroyd admitted, following Colchester United’s 2-0 win over Hartlepool United, that his side made things a little difficult.
Two penalties from Kevin Lisbie sent the U’s to a 2-0 win, in Boothroyd’s first home game in charge of the U’s.
Post-match, Boothroyd, 38, told BBC Essex: ‘We caused them a few problems with our crosses into the box, but on another day we could have been one-nil down, so that’s something we have to look at.’
However, Boothroyd acknowledged that the Pools made it difficult for the hosts.
The former Watford boss added: ‘We always knew Hartlepool would be a threat on the counter-attack and it was far from comfortable.
‘I thought that was a difficult game, but we made it a little bit more difficult than it should have been at times.’
