Having taken the lead few would have expected Colchester to end up being so soundly beaten at home against MK Dons on Saturday.

When Heath (24) put Colchester ahead around midway through the first half all looked good for The U’s, although goals from MacDonald (38) and Flanagan (45+2) in injury-time meant that it was MK Dons that went into the break 2-1 up.

Three goals in the final 15-minutes, included a couple in the final minutes, from MacDonald (74) again, Gleeson (88) and Ibehre (90+5) deep into injury-time meant that the visitors eventually ran out 5-1 winners!
