Colchester recovered from a Boxing Day pounding to end 2011 on a high with a home win over Exeter on New Years Eve.

Wordsworth (16) gave The U’s an early lead and this was one that they took into the half time break.

Just after the hour Bond (62) added another, and decisive goal, to ensure that Colchester won 2-0. Soon after this goal the chances of an Exeter recovery were ended with the sending off of Coles (64).
