There`s nothing like an East Anglian Derby. And next Thursday`s Carling Cup draw will see Colchester get anything but.

Paul Lambert`s men wait to see who they get in the first round of a Cup completion in which they have not been notoriously strong in during the last couple of seasons.

They join the rest of the region`s top teams in being given a seed, following an improved second half of the 2008/9 campaign.

The means Colchester will not face Peterborough, Norwich, Ipswich or Southend, all of whom are also ranked, ahead of Thursday`s draw.

They could face them in later rounds, though.

Colchester might meet old Conference rivals Wycombe Wanders, however.

The U`s bowed out of last competition against Ipswich early on in the season, with Kevin Lisbie scoring against his former club at Portman Road.

Who eould you like to see the U’s draw in the Carling Cup?
