Aidy Boothroyd has showed his intent for Colchester United to progress in this season’s FA Cup.

The U’s manager has named a strong travelling party for tomorrow’s First Round tie with non-league side Bromley FC. However, a number of changes to the starting XI seem likely, with midfield duo Anthony Wordsworth (suspended) and Josh Payne (loan clause) both missing.

On the other hand, skipper, and commanding centre-half Pat Baldwin returns to the fold for the first time since early September – where he picked up an injury at Southampton. Tricky winger Simon Hackney also is available, following injury, and after featuring in the Essex Senior Cup midweek, is likely to start in a left-wing berth.

Loan quartet; Kevin Lisbie, Danny Batth, Kayode Odejayi and John-Joe O’Toole are all free to play, although they may be rested by Boothroyd.

Full-back Phil Ifil could also be handed a start, along with playmaker David Fox and record-signing Steven Gillespie.

U’s Squad: Williams, Cousins, White, Tierney, Okuonghae, Reid, Baldwin, Heath, Maybury, Batth, O’Toole, Corcoran, Izzet, Hackney, Ifil, Fox, Odejayi, Platt, Gillespie, Thomas, Lisbie, Elito.
