Last time Vital Colchester carried any quotes from Lomana LuaLua, they were from his icons page. They said the former Colchester striker one day planned to return to North Essex.

He played for Colehster, having been discovered by foemrer player Micky Cook, from 1998 – 2000.

But today`s News of The World reports that the 28-year-old who is now playing in Qatar after a spell with Greek side Olympiacos.

LuaLua scored just five goals for the Black Cats` rivals, but developed an infectious summersault celebration and also notably dedicated a goal against Manchester United for Portsmouth to his deceased son, Jesus.

LuaLua probably will not be linking up with ex-U`s man, Greg Halford, were he to join.

The right-back has been told he can leave Sunderland, with Championship play-off losers Sheffield United ready to make an offer.

LuaLua also features in today’s top-ten feature on Colchester United’s best homegrown talents of all time. Click here hereto read the article.

Would be really good to see him back in England again! Will have more of a reason to watch Match of the Day again!

He did cut it in the Prem, and inspired a song in his own name while abroad elsewhere, which is on Youtuble.,.. depends how old he is later when he plan to come back to Colchester, but yes will be good if he arrives to see him on MOTD!

Yeah I know. I was the one who found it, and put the link on the Official Message Board, lol.
Tbh I don’t think he will come back to us. I hope that if he does come back, he will better this around. When he left England a couple of years ago, it was marred with lots of personal problems. I hope he can put all that behind him, and not let his personal life interfere again. He can bamboozle any defence, and would be great to see him doing it again, in England.

I agree! Thanks, nice… Yeates was also touted as leaving again in yesterday’s Sunday tabliod press!

    SIGN HIM UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not for Colchester. Not now. And maybe not even later. Ok, so he’s a good player but we might be useless when we get hold of him again. Actaully, he’d be worth a punt up to about the age of 32. Else, no deal, I say!
