Record signing Steven Gillespie shone for Colchester United’s second-string in a comfortable win over Grays Athletic.
Gillespie dispatched a tidy trio of strikes, inside of twenty-five minutes, at the Weston Homes Community Stadium. While, midfield duo David Fox and Medy Elito added gloss to the scoreline.
‘We know a lot about Steven from his previous clubs. There’s a history of bumps and niggles but I’m really looking forward to working with him,’ U’s manager Aidy Boothroyd told The Daily Gazette.
And Boothroyd added: ‘He’s a very big talent who I think so far has not done what he wants to do in his career.’
