Teddy: U`s Can Make Play-Offs

Teddy Sheringham is adamant there is enough talent in the Colchester United squad for him and his team-mates to reach the play-offs, even though they currently lie in 20th place.

The Layer Road side prepare to take on Sheffield Wednesday, at Hillsborough, tomorrow, on the back of successive defeats to Crystal Palace and Wolves.

Sheringham, a former England star, believes it is the play-offs that the U`s should be talking about rather than relegation.

The ex-Spurs front man told The Evening Gazette: “There are a good bunch of lads at Colchester and we have a lot of talent in the squad.

“With the players and the coaching staff we have we should be doing better and I think we have the squad to get into the play-off situation and then who knows from there.

“I think we have a fantastic squad of players and we should be doing better than we are.”

The evergreen Sheringham has had a lot of success at Hillsborough over the years and would like nothing more than to add to his tally tomorrow.

He also admitted to how the U`s need to start winning their home games.

“We need to start winning at home and pick up some points away. We need to start turning draws into wins,” he explained.
