Geraint Williams left his post as U’s boss on Monday morning after just over two years at the helm.
Vital Colchester’s StevieG Col U brings you the latest in the race to replace him.
Parky Out Of Running…
Phil Parkinson appears to be out of the running to succeed Williams in the Weston Homes Community Stadium hotseat. Parkinson, who impressed as U’s boss before leaving just over two years ago, has been linked with a sensational return.
However, Parkinson’s agent, Barry Nevill ruled him out of the running. Nevill is also the agent of Teddy Sheringham, and ruled him out, along with Kevin Keegan, another of his clients.
He told The Colchester Gazette: ‘Three of my clients have been linked with the vacant Colchester United job over the last few days – Teddy Sheringham, Kevin Keegan and Phil Parkinson.
‘However, none of them will be applying for any job at Colchester United at this stage.’
