Colchester recovered from an early setback to record another win at the Weston Homes Community Stadium on Tuesday night.

We recovered from a first minute setback to win 2-1 against Chesterfield to win back-to-back home fixtures in two-years!

Less than a minute in, with just 55-seconds played Sam Clucas took advantage of Frankie Kent being belted in the face by the ball from point blank range to beat Sam Walker and give the visitor and early lead.

Kent would eventually be stretchered off, but wasn’t left with a serious injury.

Chesterfield had chances to add to their lead, Clucas again going close with Ollie Banks also threatening but we got through one-nil down.

Rhys Healey was introduced at half time and the Cardiff City loanee couldn’t have made a better impact as within five-minutes Healey (50) had taken on Sanchez Watt’s pass to convert and draw us level.

A draw was looking likely until Gavin Massey picked out Freddie Sears (87) who continued his impressive goalscoring run to finish into the corner and give us a two-one win.
