Colchester had been a goal down at the Weston Homes Community Stadium on Stadium but a turnaround saw us go onto claim the points in the end against Fleetwood Town. A double from Gavin Massey led us to a comeback 2-1 win.

David Fox’s, marking his second league debut after his recent return to The U’s, went close to putting us ahead with an early effort but it was Fleetwood who took the lead when Liam McAlinden (18) got onto the end of a long ball from Steven Schumacher to make it one-nil.

We survived an appeal for a penalty from the visitors before drawing level just before the break when Freddie Sears picked out a fine ball to Massey (40) who beat Fleetwood ‘keeper Chris Maxwell from a tight angle to make it one-one.

Sam Walker made sure we kept our lead, the ‘keeper saved from Antoni Sarcevic with Gareth Evans missing another chance for the visitors before Clohessy’s pass found Massey (75) to put us ahead.

Walker ensured that we won two-one with a good save from a Schumacher freekick late on.
