Thirteen Visit Blogcast – Join Today!

Vital Colchester United is a fast-growing fanzine, dedicated to bringing Colchester fans news, comment, polls and opinion.

Now with the third editorial team since starting in 2005, Vital U`s is currently at a most successful level; in 2007 the current team met ex-England man, Teddy Sheringham and produced an interview, click here, to view and last summer attended an emotional auction as Layer Road was demolished, see this link.

This week, the website held a second live blogcast, viewed by twelve people according to our statistics, which was in reaction to the new radio show, Col U Live. For an replay of the event, hit this text.

The site has also produced material for the all-new Vital England, view here, about last night`s events at the Community Stadium and are currently working on persuading popular columnist, CO2, to return to the website with his match day column, a sample of which is posted via this hypertext.

An opinion piece on our next opposition by head writer, myself, Matt_U`s also appeared on the Vital Aston Villa website, right here this midweek.

We also continually keep you up to date with the progress of ex-U`s players, such as with a recent feature on a host of now Hull City players who have Colchester connections from their sister site.

Matt_Us has additionally published an interview, here, with ex-U’s man, Lomana Lua Lua.

We also have the occasional exclusive.

The site has published pictures from the squad`s current pre-season camp in Germany, see here, and also published the story that the Rvals fanzine network had collapsed, here, and was the first news outlet to publish the revelation that current defender Matt Lockwood, here, is available on the PFA free transfer list this summer.

But where do you come in? Vital Colchester knows that all fanzines are three-directional, working projects and cannot be run by a simple dedicated team. We need user input to improve the quality of the site which is also about to support, click here, a new redesigned format.

Current vacancies are a regular away match reporter, and a reporter to provide a weekly summary of events at the club in a light-hearted way. The club would also like a reporter from the U`s ladies team. Of course, visitors cannot be forced to use a site, but we have a proud record in supporting the club and would like to sustain and continue to grow. Even one-off contributions are welcome – we need long-time U`s fans with knowledge of the history behind the club.

We have also recently launched Twitter, find out more , and explored wider Vital network links by meeting the crew and reporting a feature here, from Vital Portsmouth.

So, could you help sustain and improve Vital Colchester in the current format? The site has also holds our own specially taken pictures, such as a the top of the page and of Layer Road.

We are a keen fanzine but cannot to do good work without more support from you, the football fan.

Up The U`s!
