Wolves defender Danny Batth has joined the U’s, to bolster the backline, on loan for a month.
The young centre-half, 19, joins Aidy Boothroyd’s ambitious Colchester United, to gain experience after progressing through the Wolves acedemy. Batth has yet to pull on the The Wanderers shirt, but is highly-rated at Molineux, and penned a contract in the summer.
U’s defenders Pat Baldwin, Paul Reid and Lee Beevers are all curently sidelined with injury – so Batth arrives to add cover and competition.
Boothroyd, who swooped to sign Kayode Odejayi yesterday, told BBC Essex: ‘He’s very quick, he’s athletic and he’s a good one-on-one defender, he’s everything you need in a centre-half.’
Very high-praise indeed, Aidy!
Vital Colchester would like to welcome Danny and wish him the best of luck in his time with the U’s.

Good Signing hopefully can work well with mag while reid and baldwin get back fit
More likely to sit on the bench I would imagine as cover for Magnus and Heath
Yeah, will act as cover to begin with. Cant comment on him, as a player, due to not knowing anything about him! lol
