COOLCHESTER UNITED front-runner Jamie Guy has had his loan stay at Dagenham & Redbridge extended for a further six-weeks.

The deal will see Guy, a product of the U’s YTS, spend the rest of the season with the Daggers.

The 21-year-old has generally impressed in his time Victoria Road, finding the net once in five appearances.

Guy initially joined the League Two outfit on a month’s loan but manager John Still has moved quickly to prolong his stay.

Daggers’ boss Still told the Ilford Recorder: ‘We are going to extend his loan, I think he’s come in and made a good contribution.

‘His work-rate is good and he’s getting fitter and more focused with every game.’

The pacy forward had a loan spell at Oxford United earlier this season before returning to the Weston Homes Community Stadium, where he failed to hold down a starting spot.

Guy is one of four U’s players currently out on loan, the others being; Matt Heath (Brighton), Matt Lockwood (Barnet) and Scott Vernon (Northampton).

So is this good new for the U’s? Or would you have liked to see him return to North Essex?
