Colchester United are braced for a bid from Norwich City for Clive Platt according to the EADT and Sky Sports.
The striker is an affordable target for Brian Gun, according to today`s press. City boss Gunn is in the market for a target-man, following his failure to secure new Barnsley singing, Alan Lee.
Speculation on Platt follows after last week`s first signs of Norwich interest, although Sky yesterday lunchtime also made a contentious claim that more than one side are tracking the player.
Without quotes to indicate official interest, the story is currently quite thin, especially amid reports that manager, Paul Lambert, is trying to add to his current strikeforce.
After admitting seven unsuccessful offers for forwards on Monday, it seems unlikely Lambert would willingly let Platt leave, expect in the case of a very good offer.
Platt to Norwich – will it happen?
