Ex-Colchester United correspondent Carl Marston has potentially cut through any red-tape surrounding speculation over Kevin Lisbie`s future, publishing an interview in which the player “speaks his mind.”

Marston, who faithfully covered the U`s for many years before being awarded the Ipswich patch, posted the comment via his Twitter page on late Monday evening, describing his exchange for the East Anglian Daily Times with the much-watched player as “entertaining.”

Talk about teasing!

This makes the next edition of the EADT essential reading for any avid Colchester United fan awaiting an update on the long-running saga over his potential switch. It almost took a most unusual twist over the weekend.

Ipswich boss, Roy Keane, told the press then that Lisbie`s future was in the player’s own hands as he appeared to uncharacteristically mellow. The fiery Irishman intimated that the door was still open for Lisnie as a player at Town in seemingly an attempt to thaw what has become a very cold war of words between the two.

Now, Lisbie`s say on the matter, presumably printed in Marston’s interview, will probably determine where he ends up by the time the current transfer window slams shut at the end of the month.

Lisbie had previously affirmed a desire to make his loan-spell with United permanent at the expense of playing for their A12 neighbours. Since then, however, Aidy Boothroyd said that financial constrains could prevent the player from re-joining the club for a third time in his career.
