Result: Colchester 2-2 Portsmouth

Colchester came from behind to lead against Portsmouth on Tuesday night but had to settle for a point in the end.

Luke Rodgers (30) gave Pompey the lead with a good finish following a good through-ball, this goal looked as though it would be the only goal of the first half. Michael Rose (45+2) had different ideas though as his stunning strike in first-half injury time brought Colchester level.

With time running out Magnus Okuonghae (83) scored his first goal since deciding to stay with The U’s as he prodded home a corner. Pompey secured a 2-2 draw though equalising through substitute Jordan Obita (86) minutes later, just after he’d come on.

With home advantage John Ward would have possibly hoped for a little more, especially having taken the lead with so little time left.

Pompey were worthy of a point though so he’ll not be too disappointed, even less so if The U’s can follow this up with a weekend win!
