Plenty of eyes will be on Colchester this afternoon as the U’s look to ensure they’ll not be one of the sides that suffers an FA Cup upset against Wealdstone United!

These chances have improved with the Official Website carrying comments from Tony Humes confirming Jamie Jones and Callum Harriott have permission to feature for Colchester in the FA Cup, with their parent clubs permitting the U’s the options of selecting the loan duo.

With Colchester able to call upon Preston ‘keeper Jones and Charlton winger Harriott for the trip to Wealdstone’s St Georges Stadium the chances of avoiding an FA Cup first round upset increase.

Hot that we can say it’ll not happen! Doing that is recipe for disaster….

It was know by Humes that Harriott was always going to be available as Charlton granted him permission when he arrived at the Weston Homes Community Stadium. At that time this was under a different boss when he seemingly had no future with the Addicks, with Guy Luzon sacked this could change things? But it’ll definitely not chance the terms of his Colchester loan.

Jones didn’t have permission but the boss has confirmed Preston boss Simon Grayson has granted this so the U’s loanee should take his place in goal later today

Colchester boss Humes said.

‘It’s great that we have both of them available.

‘We got permission from Preston North End for Jamie but with Callum, it was something that was done at the outset of the deal.

‘When we first got him, we asked if we could play him in the cups we were in and they agreed so we’re delighted to have him with us Saturday.’
