Former Colchester United midfield linchpin Kevin Watson is keen to fill the U’s vacant managerial hotseat.

The 36-year-old’s only previous coaching experience comes from being reserve team coach with Luton Town and now Watson is eager to build upon this. Watson spent four seasons in North Essex, with the U’s, and enjoyed a fantastic relationship with the blue ‘n’ white faithful.

‘I would absolutely be interested,’ the former Tottenham Hotspur man answered, to the Daily Gazette, when asked his stance on the U’s vacancy.

With Watson certainly interested in the job, it remains to be seen whether U’s supremo Robbie Cowling opts for an inexperienced or experienced man to take up the reigns.

Too soon again, or maybe the making of him as a manager? Who knows!

Yeah, a job to say – I personally wouldn’t mind if he was given the job. like Watson has said – the style of football would be good…
