A dramaticlly converted second-half penalty from Kevin Lisbie was not enough for Colchester United to stop Leeds scoring a seventh-successive win this season.
The highly-charged Whites hit the U`s twice, through Bradley Johnson and the prolific Jermaine Beckford, which was enough at 2-1 to withstand a fight-back.
Visiting Leeds also had two-first have chances ruled out for offside in what was a close encounter as the previously absent Alan Maybury and Clive Platt both featured for Colchester.
Tricky midfielder David Fox and winger, Simon Hackney, who forced a save from Leeds` Shane Higgs from a thunderous free-kick, each squandered good opportunities to equalise.
