Are you unemployed? Woah! Hold on, I mean: are you an unemployed manager? If yes, then Colchester United could provide you with a new workplace.
The Essex side have an intriguing list of early favourites for their hot-seat, the managerial role spectacularly vacated by Paul Lambert this week but have pledged not to poach his replacement.
Their approach, a reaction which anticipates a lengthy wrangle with Norwich City over remuneration for Lambert, should prove recession-busting for the currently jobless person they eventually pick, then.
Encouragingly, Robbie Cowling thinks he can lure a manager “perhaps even more talented” than the man he has just lost.
Speaking on the U`s calm approach to finding a successor, which could take anything up to three weeks, chief executive, Steve Bradshaw also explained to BBC Radio Essex: “It would be hard for us to approach other clubs as we`d have to pay compensation.”
That would appear to rule of Mark Kinsella, coaching and Charlton, Chelmsford`s Martin Allen and Rotherham manager, Mark Robins right away.
So what do you think?
