Colchester 3-1 Hartlepool

Colchester came from behind to secure their first win of the season against Hartlepool on Saturday afternoon, to get Joe Dunne’s managerial reign off to a winning start.

Hartlepool scored early on through Craig Lynch (6) and that goal looked as though it would take the visitors through to half time ahead…that was until Gavin Massey (39) equalised just before the break for Colchester.

It got even better when debutant Jabo Ibehre (43) turned things round to see The U’s actually go into the break two-one up.

Just past the hour Ibehre (62) marked his debut with a second goal to extend the lead to 3-1, which is how it ended for Dunne to start his managerial spell with a win and earn Colchester their first win of the season.
