Colchester United today completed the signing of Kevin McLeod from League 1 side Swansea City.

The U’s are expected to pay nothing for the midfielder, however it is understood that they will takeover the remainder of his two-year contract

The ex-Everton and QPR man had a torrid time in South Wales, making just 7 appearances after signing from QPR for £250,0000 in 2003.

Things did however improve for him the following season, making 25 appearances and scoring seven goals only to fall out with Manager Kenny Jackett.

An ankle injury later limited his appearances and he was told he can leave after the swans were defeated in the 2005-2006 play off final.

he did allright for us but did not play to his potential. He had many fights with the players and was found drunk before 1 game. If you ask me if he performes on the pitch he will be a great signing but if not…
