Colchester United and Millwall are to go head-to-head in a battle to sign out-of-contract Bournemouth star Danny Hollands.

Hollands, 22, can play anywhere across the midfield. Despite the Cherries relegation to League Two, Holland put in some impressive performances.

However, he recently told The Bournemouth Echo he is happy to stay at The Fitness First Stadium.

Hollands revealed: ‘From a personal point of view, it wasn’t a bad season and I thought I did quite well.

‘I made a lot more appearances than in my first season and also got my fair share of goals. But although I felt I did okay, I would have swapped everything for staying up.’

He continued: ‘I’ve been here for two years and love the place and the people. The fans and the lads are great so there would be no problems with staying here.

‘I’d like to stay but it’s not always as easy as that. There are a lot of things that go on and you have to agree things. When you get relegated, there is a budget you have to reach as a club.’

Hollands started out with Chelsea as a trainee, turning professional in 2003. He captained the Chelsea Youth Team and their reserve side. In March 2006, he joined Torquay United on loan and went on to feature ten times for them. In the close season he was released by Chelsea and put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal with Bournemouth.

So would Hollands make a good signing? As usual we would like to know YOUR thoughts?
