Adam Virgo has admitted he would like to seal a permanent move to Layer Road – but admitted it`s not his agenda at present.

Virgo, who joined the U`s in a six-month loan deal back in August from Scottish Premier League side Celtic, and has put in some impressive performances in a U`s shirt.

The centre-back come striker, is still in the dark over his future with Geraint Williams` men as the Layer Road side travel to South Wales for tomorrow`s vital clash with Cardiff.

The former Brighton trainee joined Celtic a few seasons ago and since then he has failed to establish a place in the first-team fold.

He spent the entire of last season on-loan at the Ricoh Arena with Coventry City.

He admitted that his future has not being debated: “Nothing has been discussed yet, he told The Colchester Gazette.

“I don`t think anything will be discussed for a little while and I`m happy to concentrate on playing and doing my best for the team,” he added.

When asked, by The Colchester Gazette, about a permanent move to Layer Road he replied, “Yes, defiantly.

“The manager has been good to me and I have enjoyed working with the players.

“I need to speak to Celtic with regards to what they want to do with me so it is a bit up in the air at the moment and I can`t really say too much because I don`t know myself,” said Virgo.

Virgo also said he is just happy to have been involved in the U`s last three Championship games, where he has suffered mixed fortunes.

“The Wolves game went well personally, despite the result, and I think we defended better against Sheffield Wednesday away from home for a good win.

“It was unfortunate the other night (against Watford), he added.
