John Ward was not impressed, as he told BBC Essex, with Colchester’s performance against Bournemouth on Tuesday.

He had some credit for the visitors mind, but overall he was happy just to see The U’s get something from the 1-1 draw.

At times you just have to be ‘content’ with your lot: ‘we haven’t played as well as we’d have liked – that’s down to the opposition, who played very well, particularly in the first 30 minutes. But we didn’t quite get the game going.
