Midfield ‘Lynch Pin’ Kevin Watson came through unscathed yesterday after featuring in a behind closed doors friendly with West Ham.

Speaking to the Colchester United Official Website (www.cu-fc.com) Watson said, “I only had one real football training session with Tony Flynn before the game so was pleased with fifty five minutes. I got some ice on it straight after coming off and haven’t had any reaction to the game at all.’

Adding: ‘I will now join in with the squad and will do some extra fitness work with Donough because it’s amazing how much you can lose it after a period out. I’m looking forward to getting back into the first team picture and hopefully that won’t be too long in coming.’

Watson still a little bit off from first team football will be looking to kick on his rehab from here and make it into the minds of Williams and Adams, which will be a good headache to have.

The midfield area looked somewhat lightweight previously having lost at home to Burnley before the International break, so the addition of Watson to the squad will be welcomed by management and fans alike.
