Colchester United`s player-coach Aidan Davison has declared in the Colchester Evening Gazette that the club will miss Mick Harford if he decides to call time on his short stint as Assistant Manager,

Davision, 39 and a former Northern Irland international, told the paper on Tuesday that the side were “victims of their own success,” in wake of the news that former England man Harford will commence talks with QPR before the end of the week about becoming John Gregory`s number two.

“If Mick goes, it will be a huge loss,” Davison said in the press.

Harford, 48, only joined the backroom staff last June, but Aidan added: “First and foremost, he`s a lovely guy and the lads have the greatest respect for him.

“He`s certainly been a big influence on us and it doesn`t surprise me that he`s attracting the interest of other clubs.”
